Baking...

I'm pondering whether to buy that oven that I saw at the SM Appliance center the other day. I so wanna try baking, but I'm afraid it's gonna make me fatter. *pffft*

What are your plans?

Now that my sister is leaving in a few months, leaving me technically alone in the house we considered our family's home, seems like everyone's asking "What are your plans?"

All of my aunts, my mom, my grandmother...they are all asking me what I plan to do. Everyone is now interested in me and offering their advice on what I should do with my life. Well, to tell you frankly I'm quite lost, I still don't know the answer to this question eventhough I'm already 30 years of age. I know everyone wants the best for me, but the rebel in me is shouting for them not to meddle.

Although I am not earning much, I like my job. Eventhough he is not earning much, I love my boyfriend. And eventhough I'm gonna be alone, I'm excited in a way of my full independence. The biggest problem, I'm analyzing, is still financial security. Is my fear of the past going to haunt my future?

The favorite daughter, who was once thought to become the very successful one, suddenly turned into someone very plain and blended in the background.

So what are my plans? I really just don't know what to say.

Giant Strawberry!

Been wanting to buys some for ages, but can't because these berries are quite costly. But Pia and I finally gave in to the urge and shelled out 400++ to get a taste. Perfect with sugar and cream. :))

I just love my job...sometimes :)

When news of Wu Chun and Calvin Chen's visit to the Philippines spread, I was excited because of course as website people, our team would get to cover it again. And since Pink was a big fan of Wu Chun, she obviously got the assignment with me. I'm not that "well versed" now with the Asian entertainment scene and all I know of the two boys were their dramas. I was not even aware of their group Fahrenheit's songs.

So when the press were called to join the Taiwanese stars on stage, Pink was ecstatic. And of course I got caught up in it. They were sooo nice (unlike some other boy band management we know hahahaha).

I thought Pink and I were lucky enough to have that photo op at the presscon last Saturday (although we shared the moment with the PEP guys). But after our one on one interview with them today, we had another "moment" with them. And what's funny is I felt flustered during our photo session. I could feel Calvin's rib pressed against my arm wahahahahaha... It's soo funny, I felt the fangirlishness returning. :)

Hmm...maybe I should start brushing up on my Fahrenheit knowledge :)
ps. I wore my Kitty shirt for the first time for luck. Hahahaha...

My digital perm adventure

We passed by Tony and Jackey the other day. I told Manila that I wanted for the longest time to try getting a haircut there and she had the same idea as mine. We agreed to check out the prices and low and behold, they had a promo! So instead of just getting a haircut, I went all out and got a digital perm. Hopefully it lasts as long as Jinny, the Korean hairstylist, said.

Acme thoughts

Long time ago, I wanted a piano to fall down from thin air on this creature I knew from way back then. Little did I know, she had a distant relative up here. So I wished my hardest that a piano would fall once again. A grand one.

Then I realized that there's another creature that I want to pummel. Maybe with an electric organ.

Lousy day.

Another attempt at Hello Kitty Food

Noticed that some of the stuff I bought from Lyn were about to expire so I decided to cook it for my test subjects name Randy and Pia. First I tried the Hello Kitty Microwaveable Chocolate Cake. Since the instructions were in Japanese, I had to guess approximately what the recipe was. Got milk, mixed the stuff then placed it in the microwave...after a minute, I could smell it burning! Gah! I took it out and it was as hard as a rock (but still very cute). My willing victim for the day(Randy) still ate it though. Para daw cookie instead of being a cake.

I made the Hello Kitty Pudding/Flan the next day. Made another mistake by assuming it's like leche flan and placed the sauce into the molds first (after na pala dapat) so my Kitties ended up looking sunog hahahaha... Pia didn't like the taste much but again my willing victim, Randy ate it all up.

I have still one more box of each to perfect things mwahahahah...

A happy day

Randy and I went out the other night to watch Iron Man's first day at the cinemas. He's gotten spoiled watching movies at the Shang so since the 7:15 pm showing was already full we had no choice but to get tickets for the 10pm run. We even ran into Jinky and her boyfriend, who I met for the first time. Wanted to chat with Jinx since we haven't seen each other for a long time but I didn't want to impose a double date so I just said hi and hello.

We then counted the minutes at Wham Burger (where he was irritated to death by the fellas at the other table who spoke in cono english quite loudly). We also walked around the shops at the 5th floor then finally settled for a java chip frap at Starbucks to pass the time.

Iron Man time came and I was really impressed with all the robotics (and with Robert Downey jr. for some reason). One thing bothered me though, and it has nothing to do with the movie. There were kids ages 5-7 watching the movie that involved war, sex and violence. I was wondering why the MTRCB gave it a ratedPG rating when it wasn't a simple super hero movie. Can a 5-year-old understand the concept of arms dealing, betrayal and the reason behind Tony Stark's change of mind to do good? Ayyy...di ko maubos maisip kung ano na ang mangyayari sa kids nowadays...

Anyway, the movie was good and I'm definitely gonna watch the sequel (Bitin kasi hehehe)

I edit

Since I've been doing marathon editing for the past months, I can't seem to turn off this machine in my brain. I mean I'm even editing articles in my sleep (napanaginipan ko pati yung mga headlines namin and I could cleary hear the clickety-clack of my keyboard)...

anyway, even commercials sa TV ngayon I see copy to edit.

For example:

"After waiting for two years, the wait is finally over."

It's an advertisement for a party for the gimikero crowd. Gah. Whoever approved their copy ... ah ayoko na magsalita...

Di rin naman perfect grammar ko. Thanks to Cherry for the OCness in editing lately. :)

PBB season nanaman

This is probably the closest I'll get to a body of water this summer. With the new PBB season set to start in a few days, I passed up a free trip to Boracay...Waaaah. *sniff*

Free, as in accomodation, food and party. sheesh.

Kuya really knows how to ruin the summer. Consuelo na yung inside silip sa house. Ang layo sa Boracay di ba... :))

Weirdo

Went home late last night and missed the MRT so I had to ride a bus. On the verge of having a migrane because of editing a lot of articles (marami pang nakapila huhuhu), I was distracted by a flashing light coming from the left side of the bus. I then realized it was coming from a digital camera and this girl was posing as if taking photos for her friendster account. What's more shocking is that she didn't do it once but a gazillion of times! And she was sitting beside another passenger (a young man) who was also looking at her strangely.

I admit I was a camwhore once in my life, but never did I pose in a moving public vehicle, alone and with a stranger beside me. And I only used my cellphone to take pics in the mall, and discreetly pa! The girl did her poses til her stop...di ko alam kung matatawa ba ko o ano...

Been Sick

I went home early last Monday, feeling down and out. That feeling became a full blown stomach flu that made me stuck at home for 2 days. Even had to go to the hospital to have things checked out (it was that bad).

Well, had to muster my strength today and go back to work because I had an inkling that my office inbox's flooded, red (was right). My pages were all missing me (had no updates). They felt abandoned (hehehe). Gah!

And I can't even eat yummy stuff (fried and dairy products) til my stomach clears up. Sniff.

I hate getting sick.

Sehe Bokmanee Bateuseyo!

Had to bust out the school girl outfit again at the Lunar New Year celebration for my Korean class.

Had fun being silly again with Uchi and the gang this time. We even had a song and dance number on stage, something I haven't done in age! There's a video of the performance actually but I think Uchi wouldn't dare post it on You Tube. Unless Bambie really tries to.... hahaha...

More pics here!

Lunch Out

After a quick lunch at Italianni's (thanks to Cherry), we went over to Kozui's, a Japanese-themed cafe. The place was super cozy and cute, I couldn't resist taking pictures. I had a strawberry animitsu while Manila and Cherry had double taro animitsu.
The lousy light of my Nokia 6630 camera compared to Cherry's Sony Ericsson made me wanna consider buying a new handy phone harharhar (as if Patty). More pics in my multiply.

We should do this more often :)

Our lesson for today...

Since I'm still warming up to write my Star Studio assignment for Cherrie Pie, I'm gonna teach you guys some words I learned in my Korean class today. I'll be posting the romanized version since my PC has no capacity to post in hangul. :)

SEASON - kye-jol
SPRING - pom
SUMMER - yo-rum
FALL - ka-ul
WINTER - kyo-ul
NEW YEAR - so-lal
CHRISTMAS - kurisumasu or songtangjol
GIFT - son-mul

I'll try to post more Korean vocabulary again next time (meaning when I get masipag again) :) I'm so behind my class...even 13 year old Issa is better than me.
Back to serious writing now... toodles!

2008 na!

How time flies, even when you're not having much fun... just kidding. :)

I dunno what to make out of 2007 really. It's been OK. Not fabulous. More of so-so. I felt like I just went with the flow. Though there are highlights -- my regularization, trip to Singapore with Glody, saying good-bye to Sandy, Lyn's package from Japan, our 2nd year anniversary.

New Year's resolutions? 1.) Diet 2.) Come to work on time 3.) Save
Sana lahat yan magawa ko. (Clocked in at 9:34AM btw hehehe)

Hopefully things will get better this 2008.
Happy New Year friends!

My eyes are getting hey-vi (finally, an update!)

I've been up pretty late yesterday and had coffee at starbucks before going home. Imagine me wide awake still at 2am and my alarm set for 7am. I even fought with Pia over rights to use the bathroom first for I was going to be late for my Korean class at the rate she was moving. So by the time I reach my class in Taguig, my eyes were getting pretty heavy (sorry songsengnim!).

Then Uchi tells me that we're going to the Korean Bazaar at the Korean Church near her place. My eyes tell me I have to go ask her for a spot to take a quick nap before our scheduled departure with Marianne (our teacher) at 2pm. BUT Uchi popped in a CD of Hana Kimi the Japanese version and I couldn't help but watch it with her while the rest of her sisters and Leah slept! Daya niyo guys hehehe... anyway, when we finally got ourselves to the bazaar, Leah and I instantly gravitated towards booths selling kimchi. Hehehe. We also bought chapchae, kimbap, the spicy rice cakes and rice flour and veggie cake (dont know what it's called so guys help me with that), in other words nag-pig out kami. We also watched their production numbers which were hilarious but highly entertaining. Nakakahiya lang, my eyes were really going on overtime (naluluha na ako so I had to close them for a while) and Uchi finally decided we go home.

In the cab on the way to the office (sila lang ang 'home' bound ako hindi) I forced myself not to sleep, sayang din ang 'gab' time namin ni Leah kasi hehehe. When I got to the office, Flow and I bought dinner at the newly opened Loop downstairs before it closed. Then I finally bee-lined for the couch and plopped down to get some shut eye. However, before I even got 'somewhere', I already heard PBB's opening theme calling me. *sigh*

So here I am, bleary and red eyed, typing away on my blog while simulataneously writing an article for the site. Oh and I'm smelling my kimchi beside me too. Yun yata yung gumigising sa akin...

You Know You Love Me...

I know, I know I'm juvenille. Eversince Teddy posted the Gossip Girl TV series trailer on his multiply, I became curious of what the books were all about. I have this rule you see of reading the original story of a series or movie before watching it on screen. I've done it with the Bone Collector, Harry Potter and LOTR -- well the first two books anyways. Bone Collector BTW had a lousy movie adaptation while LOTR stayed true to the books. Anyway, so I searched high and low at all the bookstores in Megamall the first book in the GG series and lucky me it was out of stock. But I did find it in National Megamall after some digging around and bought it at P299. Funny was the following day, my sis Pia saw a huge stack of books outside National Shangri-la. And lo and behold books 1&2 were on sale at P149 only! Imagine my inis hahaha...I bought the second book na rin.

Then just yesterday, my Tita Muriel asked us to go with her to David's Salon at Starmall to have a haircut. On the way there, we passed by this book sale and we started rummaging at the P99 bin. Well, well guess what...they had books 1-8 of the GG series there! Argh! I ended up buying books 3-8 for only P600! It was really a steal. I've rarely bought books in the last 4 years cause book collecting got sooo expensive. I only invested in the Travelling Pants series and the last HP books since I couldn't wait for mom to send our copies from the US. Since I've discovered a book mine at Starmall, I can't wait to get back to reading again :)

Drool

In the midst of a busy day in the office and my ton of Korean class assignments, I just had to stop and drool over this:
It approximately costs P72, +++ so I'm just gonna drool some more... Ok, a puddle's forming on my cubicle floor. Gotta go mop it up.

Medicated Strips

Yes. I'm indulging on them at the moment. My shoulder feels really painful, I've been enduring the pain since last night. I finally could not stand it (cause of the cold temp of the office) and bought myself a box of salonpas.

Now I'm stinking up the office with my "amoy matanda" smell pretty good. *lol*
