My eyes are getting hey-vi (finally, an update!)

I've been up pretty late yesterday and had coffee at starbucks before going home. Imagine me wide awake still at 2am and my alarm set for 7am. I even fought with Pia over rights to use the bathroom first for I was going to be late for my Korean class at the rate she was moving. So by the time I reach my class in Taguig, my eyes were getting pretty heavy (sorry songsengnim!).

Then Uchi tells me that we're going to the Korean Bazaar at the Korean Church near her place. My eyes tell me I have to go ask her for a spot to take a quick nap before our scheduled departure with Marianne (our teacher) at 2pm. BUT Uchi popped in a CD of Hana Kimi the Japanese version and I couldn't help but watch it with her while the rest of her sisters and Leah slept! Daya niyo guys hehehe... anyway, when we finally got ourselves to the bazaar, Leah and I instantly gravitated towards booths selling kimchi. Hehehe. We also bought chapchae, kimbap, the spicy rice cakes and rice flour and veggie cake (dont know what it's called so guys help me with that), in other words nag-pig out kami. We also watched their production numbers which were hilarious but highly entertaining. Nakakahiya lang, my eyes were really going on overtime (naluluha na ako so I had to close them for a while) and Uchi finally decided we go home.

In the cab on the way to the office (sila lang ang 'home' bound ako hindi) I forced myself not to sleep, sayang din ang 'gab' time namin ni Leah kasi hehehe. When I got to the office, Flow and I bought dinner at the newly opened Loop downstairs before it closed. Then I finally bee-lined for the couch and plopped down to get some shut eye. However, before I even got 'somewhere', I already heard PBB's opening theme calling me. *sigh*

So here I am, bleary and red eyed, typing away on my blog while simulataneously writing an article for the site. Oh and I'm smelling my kimchi beside me too. Yun yata yung gumigising sa akin...

You Know You Love Me...

I know, I know I'm juvenille. Eversince Teddy posted the Gossip Girl TV series trailer on his multiply, I became curious of what the books were all about. I have this rule you see of reading the original story of a series or movie before watching it on screen. I've done it with the Bone Collector, Harry Potter and LOTR -- well the first two books anyways. Bone Collector BTW had a lousy movie adaptation while LOTR stayed true to the books. Anyway, so I searched high and low at all the bookstores in Megamall the first book in the GG series and lucky me it was out of stock. But I did find it in National Megamall after some digging around and bought it at P299. Funny was the following day, my sis Pia saw a huge stack of books outside National Shangri-la. And lo and behold books 1&2 were on sale at P149 only! Imagine my inis hahaha...I bought the second book na rin.

Then just yesterday, my Tita Muriel asked us to go with her to David's Salon at Starmall to have a haircut. On the way there, we passed by this book sale and we started rummaging at the P99 bin. Well, well guess what...they had books 1-8 of the GG series there! Argh! I ended up buying books 3-8 for only P600! It was really a steal. I've rarely bought books in the last 4 years cause book collecting got sooo expensive. I only invested in the Travelling Pants series and the last HP books since I couldn't wait for mom to send our copies from the US. Since I've discovered a book mine at Starmall, I can't wait to get back to reading again :)

Drool

In the midst of a busy day in the office and my ton of Korean class assignments, I just had to stop and drool over this:
It approximately costs P72, +++ so I'm just gonna drool some more... Ok, a puddle's forming on my cubicle floor. Gotta go mop it up.

Medicated Strips

Yes. I'm indulging on them at the moment. My shoulder feels really painful, I've been enduring the pain since last night. I finally could not stand it (cause of the cold temp of the office) and bought myself a box of salonpas.

Now I'm stinking up the office with my "amoy matanda" smell pretty good. *lol*

I'm sick

I know, I know...I'm sick in the head a long long time ago. I haven't blogged much lately so might as well update you in the world of viruses...I've been nursing a terrible cough since Sunday. My throat hurts from coughing too much but mind you I've been drinking up on cough syrup and such (Di ako adik!). I dunno when the coughing fits will end. Had to attend a meeting a while ago and boy, was it hard suppressing my virus from spreading around the conference room. *spray ng lysol*

Anyways, It was our 2nd year anniv last Aug 28, but with this cough (also butas na bulsa) it was a so-so celebration. Actually may advance party yun eh, but maganda pa rin on the day it self di ba?

Enough na of this rambling baka maikwento ko pa sa inyo yung cheesy details masuka pa kayo hahaha...

My 2nd Singapore Adventure (long overdue)

Well, as some of you know, I have been to Singapore before, in 2003 when my fan girlishness took me to meet a stranger (turned friend -- Hi Jeanette!) and watch the MTV Music Awards then hosted by Vanness Wu and Michelle Branch. I was there for almost 4 days but they were spent preparing stuff, lining up at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, stalking Vanness at the Fullerton (yeah, yeah) and artist sight seeing. Jeanette also had a job so I only got to roam around the places near her home and not touristy stuff. Hence I didn't see much of Singapore.

Glody, my bff from highschool invited me to go on a trip with her to Singapore last June and I said yes. I was determined to tour Singapore this time but the problem was I had time restrictions so we had to stick to our schedule religiously. However as you can imagine our flight was forever delayed courtesy of PAL (never had a flight there na on time). Day one was wasted as you can see for instead of arriving at Changi Airport around 6PM we got there at 1130PM! While passing the time at the Centennial though, Glody and I were amused by Korean couples dressed up in matching outfits! Is that the "In" thing there? Everywhere you looked you can see pairs wearing the same tee...You know me I'm a sucker for Korean trends so I tried that 'pair dressing' here with Randy, but that's for another story.

Anyway so first day all I got to see was the Moren (who I met at the Mc Donalds in the airport) and Fragrance hotel where we stayed. Following day, I got to meet Thomas, Glody's boyfriend and the 'tour marathon' started. We ate at a nearby fast food and ordered hainanese chicken curry noodles and some beef with rice. Thomas ate only egg and toast so he was looking at me and Glody oddly gobbling everything in sight. Of course, it's going to be a busy day so we really have to gas up hehe... By 11 AM we were already on our way to Orchard Road and first on the agenda was shopping! Hahaha, yes I blew half of my pocket money in a few minutes. We went to Lucky Plaza to have money changed then off to Wisma and the nearby malls. Actually almost all the stuff I brought were for other people. We planned to go to Sentosa next and all off a sudden it started to rain. Bummer, so we decided to browse some electronic shops nearby while waiting for the rain to stop, which fortunately was over quickly.

Then our next stop was Vivo City, which the taxi driver said was the biggest shopping mall in Singapore. It was not really impressive (mas higante pa ang Mall of Asia) but the train to Sentosa was located there. We stopped at a cafe there (gosh I forgot its name) because of the delicious looking cakes displayed at the window. And besides Thomas was feeling the aftermath of his tiny breakfast. Haha... Couldn't resist taking pics of the cakes. They were too pretty to eat. Then we were off again... Got to Sentosa finally! We went to take pics at the Merlion then saw their mini museum. After that we had to take the bus to the Aquarium. Here I experienced what Phoebe (my college bud) was talking about when she worked there. We were squashed inside the bus with a bunch of 'them' and we couldn't breathe. As the bus started lurching forward, it was like they had a signal and everyone of them raised their arms to hold the safety bars. I didn't know where to look hahaha di ako makahinga... anyway at the aquarium we also experienced the same thing. Glody tried her best not to breathe but how can you not breathe? *lol* The place was fun though and Thomas even brought me a souvenir. :)

It's already around 5 in the PM and we had another place on our list...the Singapore Night Safari! Di pa kami pagod (or pretending lang)! We had dinner first at Bongo Burgers and I bought some cutesy stuff toys for my niece and nephew afterwards. Then we had to stand for 30 minutes in a stuffy area for the animal show. Then it was off to the train were we toured the forest (or is it a jungle) and looked at some animals. Our tired feet got to rest at this part, they were screaming for us to stop walking already. We got back to the hotel at around 10 or so. I was so dead tired, I didn't even join Glody and Thomas for a quick drink somewhere.

Third day. The day of my departure. Glody and I planned some last minute shopping without Thomas, who wanted more time to sleep. Then at around 12, we were all off to the airport and lo and behold, my flight was delayed once again. If you're wondering why I returned alone, Glody and Thomas spent 3 more days of quality time together without me the third wheel hanging around. *lol* The two stayed at the airport for a while and we had lunch at a restaurant there. Then at around 2PM, I had to go in and say good-bye to them. I browsed the duty free shop and unloaded the remaining Singapore dollars I had with me. 5:30PM I got on board the plane and at around 9PM I landed at the Centennial Airport (real crummy compared to Changi). I'm home once again.

So there goes my Singapore marathon. I hope you drink a lot of water after racing with me, reading this story (this was in my draft folder since July 14. Hehehe).

More on Hello Kitty

Abby told me to go to this site and instead of annoying me it amused me to no end. The site lead me to this link and it rated me as a self-centered, evil person hehehehe...

Oh more Hello Kitty food to share...courtesy of the "kitty" site!

My Hello Kitty Addiction

I'm a Hello Kitty fan. A big one. Though I can't afford to have a massive Hello Kitty collection, I try to buy stuff whenever I can. Lyn (a multiply seller and blogger) has awakened the HK addict in me...I just ordered stuff from her. Hehehe.

Anyway, while browsing on the net, I saw this on Jengajam.com. Wish they sold this here... Hehehe.. Lyn meron ba nito dyan? :)

Super Gals!

I've searched high and low for the anime Super Gals's soundtrack - with no clue of the singer, title (or lyrics) whatsoever. Thanks to a kind soul at the anime threads in ABS-CBN forums, I was able to get somewhere the opening and closing songs of the cartoon.

Girly anime...it's funny watching Ran Kotobuki and her friends's silly antics. Too bad they didn't finish the anime on Hero TV.

You can listen or DL the songs here.

For Once In My Life

For Once In My Life - Tony Bennet

For once in my life I've got someone who needs me, someone I've needed so long
For once unafraid I can go where life leads me, and somehow I know I'll be strong
For once I can touch what my heart used to dream of
Long before I knew someone warm like you
Could make my dreams come true
For once in my life I won't let sorrow hurt me, not like it's hurt me before
For once I've got someone I know won't desert me, and I'm not alone anymore
For once I can say: "This is mine you can't take it"
As long as I've got love I know I can make it
For once in my life I've got someone who needs me

My sister's stories about her friend's tragic love life made me look at you and think with wonder. I thought about the first time we met before I went to sleep my hand held in yours. And watching Tony Bennet on American Idol singing this from the heart made me realize how lucky I am to have you.

Thank you for loving me.

American Idol ramblings

So. Melinda got the boot. And now there are only two. This event made me reminisce AI moments of the past season. Still ranking no.1 on my list is Carrie Underwood's rendition of Heart's "Alone". And even if two seasons have passed, it still gives me goosebumps.

BTW, Season 4 is still the best AI for me. ;)

When the boss is away...

I feel bad I've only made one entry for April. Sorry been really busy but today I've time on my hands for as you can see in the picture that the office is deserted. It's the ABSI outing today but the online team decided not to go -- who would update the sites???

Anyway, since there are no people here (there are some who also opted not to go, but I'm treating them as aliens *lol*) Me, Flow, Myra and Nap hammed it up in front of the camera ...

"Pigilan niyo ako tatalon akoooo..."

"A model for Renz Verano's MTV."

"Pinagsamantalahan ni Myra ang machong standee..."

Ang saya ng walang boss sa office... :)

Ivy gets hitched

The F4FU mods were invited to Ivy's much awaited wedding last March 30. After 9 years plus 2 more (It's a complicated story) Ivy got married to her college sweetheart Mike. It was a rough road for both but in the end Ivy and Mike realized that they were really MFEO (made for each other). The (ex)mods were in incomplete attendance but it was also a reunion of sorts for some of the "originals" -- Johanne, Che, Anna and Tonie were there.

Funny how we girls all met and remained friends despite the 'weird' circumstances. During the hiatus in Mike and Ivy's relationship about 3 years ago, Ivy met a bunch of 'crazy' girls to distract herself. And look where we are now. *lol* We are so proud of ya Ivy! Mike, you better take good care of her!

I was the designated responsorial psalm reader but me and Mike's cousin Claire took on double duty for the guy readers didn't show up on time! I was shy and hid behind the podium, praying I don't fumble...(Ummm wag na magreact sa shy.)Oo, Uchi nakadress ako. :P

*more wedding pics view here.

I'm doing nothing

It's a miracle. I have freetime on my hands. Hmm...I wonder where have all the work gone...*lol*

What I did this morning:
1. Checked my lotus mail and yahoo mail. All cleared.
2. Watched American Idol 6 clips on a blog. Sanjaya's scarier than ever.
3. Just edited typos on the PBB2 site.
4. Deleted some forum posts and laughed at some dialogues and screen caps on the PBB2 thread.
5. Listened to M-flo, Jjang Nara and BoA to wake me up.
6. Currently watching the hostage taking at the Manila City Hall on ANC.

Now I'm looking forward to lunch. I have 6 more hours of free time to go. Any suggestions? *lol*

Crazy...

This is the first time in my whole life that I've been swamped with work this many! And the bosses are lining up more...

I'm wracking my brain for an entertaining entry but I'll just redirect you here for all the 'entertainment' you need. I seem to have lost my blogging touch.

Grouch, grouch, grouch.

Stressed out

Big Brother has once again struck. And he's wrecking my life!!! My sched for the whole week's whacked. Since Sunday, I've been here at the office til midnight monitoring the site. Haven't had a decent night's sleep. I have eye maletas right now (eye bags are an understatement). I'm missing dinners with Randy. And American Idol. I miss playing Sims 2 and Zuma. I can't take a vacation over weekends (that email about long holidays don't apply to me now.)I don't even have time to look after my bunny...And what's real great about this...stress makes you fatter around the belly.

Waaah...Big Brother give me my life back!

Overheard...

In a movie house, before the last full show of Music and Lyrics...
(A commercial of the Down Syndrome Association was being shown)
Girl A: (in a loud voice) Ano yung Down Syndrome?
Girl B: Ah yan yata yung sakit na sobrang depression.
*toink*

Last night, during the ride home on the MRT...
(A local band of 8 on their way to a gig)
Tomboy: O ano susunod ba siya?
Girl: Oo daw.
Tomboy: Sabihin mo sa kanya mag all black siya. Yung black boots and black mini, tapos black na t-shirt. Yung pantaas niya na blue na kumikintab, yun pwede yun...
*isa pang toink*

Happy 1 year and 6 months to us. :)

10:00 AM

New designation. New work sched. February has started and this is my first entry. Talk about busy. I got in at exactly 10 AM. It was a photo finish. And some rude person stepped on my new havaianas from behind. I'm so freakin' deprived of these slippers that I'm over protective of it. Hahahaha...

My tummy's grumbling. And work (a pile of it) is beckoning so ttfn...

Clueless...

February 01 marks D-day. I've got two meetings already lined up. And I'm still like a chicken running around...headless. *lol* I have absolutely no freaking idea on what to do. And take note, I will get to have an assistant. My question to my superior awhile ago was 'What for?'. He has no clue either.

I have to be in at the office now at 10 AM everyday. Argh.

Friday, January 26, 2007

PDA (and it's not Pinoy Dream Academy)

Why can't some people stop pawing at each other in public?

On the ride to work, passed by a couple at the escalator kissing. Repeatedly. With people behind, beside and in front of them. And they're not even a pretty couple at that. Also witnessed before a guy and a girl almost making out in their MRT seat. And this was a packed train. Standing room only.

Shoot me if I ever do that.

Post New Year's Post

Yeah yeah. It's already 2007 and I'm a week or so behind from posting. But it is better late than never... so here I am.

Christmas was again spent at my lola's in Bulacan. I was taken aback to know 2 weeks later that my lola was extra glad of our stay there. She cooked the usual beef asado. There was also my Tita Muriel's bbq (I'm drooling just remembering it). Lola added her special dinuguan to this year's Christmas menu. My uncle and his family came. My cousin and his wife irritated me by telling me I should get married soon (I'm old enough to decide on this please). Surprisingly my Ate, her husband and kids made an appearance this year. There's supposed to be a group photo sent to me by the aforementioned cousin but knowing him he'll send it Christmas next year. So I'm just posting a picture of my mom's Christmas mug. She's missing Christmas in Pinas. We miss her too. *sniff*

I mentioned attending the Talent Center Christmas party. And I had the same feelings about it like last year's. They were all still my friends yet things are...different. I was already an outsider. It was fun watching them do dance numbers, have fun games, take group pictures etc. But it's real sad not being a part of those things. Ugh. Anyway, no moping now so here's me and Leah trying to look decent. Oh and I enjoyed the open bar too. :)

Katie went home for a visit again! This time we met her at Brother's Burger in Rockwell. Uchi wanted to eat at San-Sung but Katie veetoed it -- sawa na siya sa Korean food hahaha. We were one long table and exhanged gifts. I asked Katie to get me a Korean Elle Girl mag and she did! Super thanks friend :) After that it was norebang (videoke in layman's terms haha) at Don't Tell Mama (that's the name of the place, no kidding) and then a visit at the newly discovered "My Room", a place that sells Korean stuff like books, K-pop CDs (as in orig ha) and other cutesy things. Almost all of us bought a Korean spoon you can bring in your lunch box. I envied Paola who can read, speak and understand Korean after studying in Korea for a sem.

Of course the season would not have been complete if the 'sisterhood' did not have a Christmas party of their own. So Jopen, Joy and I hied off to faraway Cavite, fetched Leah then zoomed to Tagaytay. It was darn cold but would that stop us? First stop was the Tagaytay Vista Lodge. No, we did not check in. We just used their restroom *lol* Jopen really had to drive by and inquire so we girls decided to take advantage of their facilities hehehe... Then we had dinner at Bag of Beans. Their food was quite yummy. And we did a talk marathon, which we haven't done for a long, long time.

Here are some nice stuff I got and discovered during the holidays:

My Meiji stash. I sooo love the one in the middle. I got some of the chocolates as exchange gifts. So don't mind me when I complain that I'm so fat hehehehe...

Franzen and Jayson. The mug mates. The two were part of Jihan and Moby's adopt-a-fish/gift giving at the office. Flow and I joined forces and placed the tiger barbs in a mug. Sadly, they weren't part of the survivors. They've gone to fishy heaven 2 days after adoption.

This is the Elle Girl Korean edition Katie bought for me. Real cool, with a Se7en fashion spread too. Alas, I can't read any of the articles. It's all in hangul. T_T

Magnolia has this new popsicle/pinipig crunch type of dairy bar. Has a choco coating and rainbow sprinkles on it. Kinda reminds me of their goodies back then called fun-something. I totally forgot what it's called. If you can remember what those funny shaped ice cream sticks (may banana flavor, strawberry, orange pa ata yung and pastel ang kulay niya) give me a buzz. :)

A picture of my first family of rabbits. This was still taped on the fridge in Bulacan. They're real cute but I don't wanna breed them. It's already hard taking care of one, how much more a bunch.

More breaking news for the year -- My boss has finally resigned, whoopee! Bad news, someone from the outside (again) is replacing her daw. Mahilig talaga mga tao dito sa puro yabang lang sa labas, wala naman maibuga sa trabaho. Hay more of this work angst later. On the lighter side, I got kissed yesterday by two gorgeous men -- Piolo and Sam. Hahaha... galit na galit si Cors sa akin. Many would kill to be in my shoes but di ko kasi sila type eh. Friends lang ang tingin ko sa kanila. *lol*

I should stop talking now. Randy's on his way to pick me up and I still have a lot of work to do. :)
