the frog prince
nce upon a time in a kingdom not so far away there lived a princess, who was living a simple yet complicated life. she was often times heartbroken and would go to the small stream behind their castle to rant. the princess would cast her pains and sorrows to the stream, talking to herself, letting her tears create small ripples in the water.
one day as she was procrastinating, a frog suddenly jumps on a lily pad and starts talking to her. he wondered if they'd get along. they talked and talked about anything and everything. amazed at the wise words that the frog conveyed to her that the princess would now visit the stream hoping that she would be able to talk to him. the frog answered her questions and would console her, took her tortured heart by the hand and somehow healed her. finally someone who understood.
then out of the blue, during one of their talks, the frog asks for a kiss. though a bit taken aback, the princess obliges. after all they were friends now. the princess kisses the frog (or was it the frog who kissed the princess?) and he turns into a handsome prince. the kiss somehow changed the way things are with the princess and her newly found prince charming. they were still friends yet there was something building between them which got the princess confused.
prince charmings usually save the damsels in distress, and the princess felt like he did save her from misery. but suddenly things changed yet again. the prince after a while became busy with princely duties and 'man stuff' that he didn't have time for the princess anymore. they talked less and less. until the princess wondered if he still thinks about her. or even remembers her. and he disappeared without much of an explanation.
so the princess was lonely once again. she thought that maybe the frog prince would be different but in the end he was not. he was just the same as the prince charmings, who came and went, the ones that left scars on her heart. and this scar was deeper than the others. because she missed their talks. she missed their friendship. but it was too late now. the deed was done.
now the princess sits by the stream once more, creating small ripples in the water with her tears.
the end.
moral of the story:
princess
1. don't talk to strange frogs.
2. don't kiss frog princes. besides being warty they are still male.
3. the princess should hang out at other streams. or maybe just go to the town country fair.
frog
1. don't talk to broken hearted princesses. they are still vulnerable.
2. smart frogs should just remain friends with princesses who give them kisses.
3. frog princes should ask kermit the frog some pointers on being a good frog.

makakarma din yun!
bakit puro na lang frogs? labo
im willing to make you a tragic fairy tale quentin (and kung sino pa me gusto). just give me the basics ako na bahala. kung ayaw mo ding maging frog pwede. *lol*
expertise ko na ata ang stories with tragic endings.
princess ka nga e so treat yourself like a princess - and you'll attract princes not frogs!... and the stream may not be the place for you...
(Long post. I'm in a mood to ramble :)
makinig kay nanay jopen.
I love fairy tales and I hate frogs.
I love fairy tales. I used to read a couple of hardbound volumes of Grimm Brothers, Charles Perrault and Hans Christian Andersen. They were the fodder for my imagination and they served me well to while away the time. But historically, a lot of fairy tales have rather gruesome origins and endings. Some of them have political innuendoes woven into them. Not all of them ended in Happy Ever After, despite what Disney may try to tell you. On the surface, fairy tales may be the epitome of an ideal life but considering the dubious origins of some, it's often edged with a little darkness.
Life is not always Happy Ever After either. It may also have its share of wicked stepsisters and evil witches. A lot of people have romantic notions of Prince Charming coming to save the damsel in distress. (But like I said, fairy tales are not always sweetness and light.) Prince Charmings are a dying breed (or possibly extinct). In the age of Girl Power, damsels have learned how to kick butt and stand up for themselves.
I hate frogs. They are slimy and cold and when one of the suckers pee on you, they can give you a skin disease (or at least that
is how high school biology lore went). Some men are like frogs. They can be slimy in the way they treat you and cold towards you.
Frogs. Good for dissecting and eating (frog legs are a French delicacy and curried frog legs were a favorite of mine as a kid until I learned what they were. *shudder).
The moral of this post? Nothing. Like I said, I felt like rambling. :)
Para naman may saysay kahit paano ang post na ito: Stop talking to frogs. They might seem like harmless reptiles but they are cold-blooded. Some are even poisonous. The princess should hie off to somewhere else and stop waiting for Prince whatshisface to show up. She should go to the royal ball and mingle.
patty patty ako gawan mo ng story- pero yoko ng frog. monster na lang, pwede? :)
may sinabi ba ako na ako yun princess? la naman ah...kayo... *lol*
@ivy- sige ba. give me the details. :)
the princess returns to her castle after news about her broken heartedness spreads in the royal newsletter. after taking much scolding from her other royal and loyal friends, the princess scans a few of her invitations(royal ball, picnic, sa malamig at madilim)she finally settles for a vacation on the beach. taking her 2 piece swimsuit *aherm* and sunblock she posts on the kingdom gates "off on vacation. will resume breaking hearts after 3 days."
apparently, autobiographical ang tale na itech. :)
anong details kelangan mo?
oy. cecilia. minsan ka lang magparamdam at ako pa tinira mo. why equate bitterness to cherry? pwede din namang patty-flavored ampalaya or cecil-flavored ampalaya. we are all members of the Bitter Brethren. hehehe
late reaction: huwaaat?!?! so the princess actually KISSED the frog? i wonder how a frog's kiss tastes like...
uso yata ganito stories ngaun... parang story ko din 2 e.Ü blog-hopping lng po...
prince charming is the posterboy for polygamists and playboys. Perrault and Grimm, the gorilla likes... That's why I choose to be a gorilla rather than a frog. The only frog I know who's cool is Kermit. *Heigh-ho, Kermit the forg here.* ^_^
patayin lahat ng palaka!
