this or that

i've just sprung a surprise question to a 'friend'.

he says "if you love someone do whatever it takes. no excuses."

my question to him "would you still pursue love even to the point of hurting yourself or others?"

you tell me the answer.

Hurting myself, yes. but, not hurting others... One one level there was such a thing as a gentleman's (silent) agreement... I think it somehow translates to "walang ahasan", or stepping aside. Sadly, some people aren't chivalrous enough nowadays to repect that old belief. (or matanda na lang talaga me.)

i have my limits. i am not yet that brave enough at the prospect of pain...or maybe, if the person is really truly worth it...

Now that the creme brulee latte's kicked in...

Pursuing love to the point of hurting others--are we talking about rejecting someone else's affections to pursue the love you want or about others in pursuit of the same object of affection?

Anyway, pursuing love is a fine thing. Whether you are to be hurt in the pursuit is totally up to you. Thing is, you have to make sure you have no regrets. no more "what ifs" "maybes" and "CouldhaveBeens" If the pursuit means you can stare at yourself in the mirror with no guilt, no ill feelings or sadness, then maybe it is one you should take.

wag naman. basta ang thinking ko dyan, if it doesnt feel right- nasasaktan sya, or somebody else- its not the right thing to do. di bale nang ako ang masaktan, wag lang ako makasakit ng ibang tao.
